The 5th Annual Who’s Who in Asian American Communities Leaders & Legends Awards (WWAAC Awards) Announces its 2010 Distinguished Recipients
The 5th Annual WWAAC Leaders and Legends Awards is recognizing the accomplishments of dedicated and successful Asian Americans who serve as role models throughout the nation. On Saturday, August 28th at the Gwinnett Performing Arts Center in Atlanta, the WWAAC Awards will be presenting the 2010 WWAAC Award to four elite Asian Americans, the WWAAC Community Spirit Award to the highest ranking Asian in the U.S. Army, and the WWAAC Corporate Champion Award to a company that exemplifies excellence through its leadership within corporate diversity and inclusion initiatives and dedicated commitment to the Asian community. These distinguished Honorees are being celebrated because of their service, contribution, and dedication not only to the Asian community, but to mainstream America as well.
The 2010 Who’s Who in Asian American Communities Leaders & Legends Honorees are as follows:
Ronald Chang Vice President Mergers and Acquisitions UPS
Michael E. Chen President & CEO Media, Communications & Entertainment GE Capital
Patricia “Kiko” Harvey Vice President Corporate Audit Delta Air Lines
Shamina Singh Chief Operating Officer Citi Community Development
Lieutenant General Joseph F. Peterson Deputy Commanding General/Chief of Staff United States Army Forces Command The 2010 WWAAC Community Spirit Award
McDonald's USA The 2010 WWAAC Corporate Champion Award
Through a national selection process, the elite winners met rigorous standards, faced tough competition from other nominees and, finally, passed the scrutiny of the selection committee made-up of former WWAAC Honorees. Each honoree adds a special and unique quality to the distinguished list of former WWAAC Honorees, which includes government officials, entrepreneurs, artists, and community servants, among others.
For over one hundred-fifty years, Asian Americans have made enormous contributions to the prosperity and success of this great nation. While there are many different Who’s Who organizations recognizing outstanding members of our society, very few, if any, focus on the prominent Asian Americans who have been our role models for success, great contributors to our community and to the nation, and distinguished figures in their own professions. |
